Coming off a strong week, Surrey-Guildford United really wanted to close out the season with a win and end on a high note going into cup play. A win would vault SGU two spots in the standings and bring them back to .500 for the season.

Surrey-Guildford started well against Alouette but couldn't quite finish some early chances. On their counters, Alouette were able to take advantage of some poor play at the back and mount a two goal lead before the half. SGU had an air defeat about them going into the break; they would need to find another gear in order to earn a result.

After the break, Surrey-Guildford started to play with some edge and real enthusiasm. Despite having to chase the game, United looked much more upbeat in their play. The hard work was rewarded as an aggressive move into the box forced a foul and the ensuing PK was tallied to cut the lead in half. Shortly after gaining some ground SGU was deflated; giving up a sloppy goal against to fall behind 3-1. Surrey-Guildford's response was commendable, pushing hard right to the final whistle, however the squad could simply could not climb out of the hole they had dug for themselves. Final score 3-1.

Although disappointed with the result, it was not a disaterous outing for SGU. The team now has three weeks to prepare for Cup play which opens at the end on March.
