Surrey-Guildford United was looking to come back with a much better performance this week after drawing with Langley in a game they felt they should have won. Richmond won their season opener against CMF Roma.

Right from the opening whistle SGU, despite being the younger squad, physically dominated play and posession. Surrey-Guildford were able to move the ball quite freely around the pitch and eventually broke through mid-way into the first half with a weak shot beating an inglorious save attempt by the Richmond keeper. Shortly after, SGU would double their lead on a determined effort by a Surrey striker who beat two defenders and finished well for the 2-0 lead.

In the second half, the Surrey boys picked up right where they left off and continued to dictate the play. The lead was stretched to 3-0 on a good ball over the top that led to a half break which was put into the back of the net. The final goal came on a corner that was swung in to the back post and the SGU midfielder, who was left all alone, scored easily to cap off the scoring for the day. Final score 4-0.

Surrey-Guildford United performed quite well on the heels of sub-standard effort the week previous. The squad takes on the North Delta Selects next week in league play.
